A House in a Mountain Meadow / Atelier SAD

April 29, 2026 Hadir Al Koshta 0

The house is situated in a unique mountain meadow enclave within a highly protected area of the Krkonoše National Park. It stands on the site of the original cottage; new structures are otherwise not permitted in this zone. The building’s floor plan was determined by the size of the building lot, which corresponds to the footprint of the original cottage. Both the lot and the house extend from south to north, creating a roof with a variable slope (45° in the south, 41° in the north).

Cemetery Ankaran / void arhitektura

April 29, 2026 Hadir Al Koshta 0

Cemeteries are sites containing the quiet presence of memories and the constancy of cultural rituals; this combination poignantly defines a sense of bodily transference through atmospheric quietude. The Ankaran Cemetery embodies these qualities—their significance and their constancy. Furthermore, the architecture of the cemetery is conceived as a liminal transition space between the verticality of the adjacent forest and the limitlessness of the Adriatic horizon to the southwest. The space of the cemetery is defined by these contrasting relationships and transitions between open and closed, light and dark – between the here and the hereafter.

Partizani High School / Loft Architects

April 26, 2026 Hadir Al Koshta 0

The new project for the reconstruction of the “Partizani” school provides us with the opportunity to create an identity space in which, through the proposed architectural intervention, we not only aim to restore a variety of educational environments in collaboration with the surrounding environment, but we also hope that this intervention will create a dialogue with both the architectural context and its experience. Located in a dense urban location, where the facility is surrounded by large buildings of up to 13 stories, our proposal entails collaborating with the surrounding neighborhood and integrating the school into the local community. It is critical that the spaces we build, both inside and outdoors, are the most dynamic locations where creativity and healthy relationships are constantly evolving. Given the lack of vegetation in the surrounding region, we believe that the connection with nature is a crucial aspect that not only ties the building to the environment but also influences the increase of greenery in the surrounding area.

Soldalhus Nursing Home – Sunvalley House / Cubo Arkitekter

November 29, 2025 Hadir Al Koshta 0

The new Soldalhus Nursing Home in Northern Jutland provides 96 dementia-friendly residences, a central community building, and extensive shared and service areas. Designed by Cubo Arkitekter with a clear human focus, the project emphasizes dignity, independence, and connection for residents, staff, and visitors. The name Soldalhus, directly translated as “Sunvalley House,” reflects the design’s emphasis on light, openness, and integration with the surrounding landscape. Set on the edge of Northern Jutland’s characteristic hill formations, Soldalhus links the landscape with the nearby town of Sindal. Its placement strengthens local urban life, creating new pathways between the care center and the city while offering open views of meadows and wetlands. Subtle terracing and reshaping of the terrain create a sheltered microclimate, using landforms and planting to temper prevailing westerly winds and provide comfortable outdoor environments year-round.

The new Simone Veil cultural centre is being built in the town centre, in an existing building (the Maison Hirsch), whose capacity will have to be increased by the construction of an extension. Located on Place Velotte, in the historic heart of the town centre and just a stone’s throw from the station, the Maison Hirsch and its garden represent an important part of the town’s heritage, a place of remembrance and a highly visible landmark.

“As Stephen Hawking stated, humanity’s greatest achievements have been obtained in encounters, and its greatest failures in non-encounters or, worse, in clashes. Today, this is more true than ever, and it is necessary and urgent to foster the birth of collaborations because we have enormous potential in terms of expertise and technology to be used, especially for the sake of Life. Architecture, through the creation of pleasant, reassuring, and stimulating environments and a conscious distribution of functions, is a tool to make human contact and the consequent transfer of knowledge more accessible and immediate.” Michele De Lucchi
