Between two banks and in the extension of the town hall, the project constitutes the link between the two parts of the village. The solid stone support points carry the project from one bank of the Azergues river to the other. This hall represents the new heritage of the commune while giving the impression of having always been there.
Regarding the preservation of the historic Hsin Fu market, the project aims to arrive at an understanding of its existence through the building design and its physical condition. The Hsin Fu market built in 1935 in the Wanhua district, the oldest district of Taipei, was designed based on “Form follows Function”. The horseshoe plan provides a loggia space as the ones found in the typology of public plazas where traditional markets used to be set up. From its original design, the HsinFu market is strikingly different from the traditional market, usually more permeable.
MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, located in Lisbon, celebrated the fifth anniversary with an open-air series of events including a producers’ market curated by Comida Independente, an association that cooperates with emerging local food producers, environmentally committed.
Village. Huangchong Village is a typical newly-built village,in the central region of the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong, China. A typical Lingnan village might be expected with the winding waterways. But as a matter of fact, two kilometers away from the upstream of the river, there is a traditional village that is more consistent with general imagination, covering stone bridges and ancestral halls in the late Qing Dynasty. And the place in the aerial photo is called Huangchong Village, where it exposes us to another practical context. It is a place difficult to describe in terms of preliminary understanding. Probably, it can be described as “wild” and “vague” place: It is a vital village filled with people and daily life. As a new village without the elements of traditional Lingnan villages, such as ancestral halls, iron sheets and tiles are major compositions, paired with the pragmatic atmosphere of small businesses. The ambiguity pervaded in the countryside of the Pearl River Delta is emerged from the street life and reacted upon the life here, which might lead to a loss of identity, though it is not a derogatory term.
The Xitang East Area under construction is the eastward expansion of the old town of Xitang, including nearly 100,000 square meters of tourist retail, hotel, visitor center and cultural facilities. After completion, it will become a new entrance at the northeast of the old town. Xitang East Area is divided by a river into two phases. As the key point of Phase Ⅱ, Building One locates at the southwest corner of the northern site, facing the river on the west and south sides to overlook the old town and adjoining the Phase Ⅰretail blocks on the other side of the river.
A former Food Market becomes an Urban Lab dedicated to young people. The main interventions considered the accessibility of the building and a new visual identity for the lab, aiming to enhance its look, the sense of belonging of the local community and to highlight its role within the city.

Orchards are the main economic engine in Vega baja (Alicante). Its fruits and vegetables are in almost every house, but also in national and international markets. The central market in Albatera is the neuralgic center in this small town from the very beginning of this building, that was a stable until 1950. From that time, it became a central market where market stalls were located around the building perimeter, under the roofed area. The center of the building, opened, were the second square of the town, where people met, make bussines deals… During 1989 the roof was built: a metallic structure in the whole central “square” that allowed to build more market stalls. Thanks to this new structure temperature was nicer inside.
Ergon Agora East is located in Pylaia, a few kilometers outside the city of Thessaloniki, and re-uses an old industrial shell of 1970s, of 2500 sq.m.
Historical Background
Opened on September 21st of 1952, the construction of the Famalicão Municipal Market had a dual purpose: on one hand to decongest the old fairgrounds (nowadays D. Maria II Square) and on the other hand to make a more pleasant space with better hygienic conditions.
