Courtyard houses are a famous type of historic residence mostly found in Beijing. Courtyards used to be essential living spaces for Beijing locals. ”A house, a courtyard, a story” is the design theme used throughout the project. This theme inspired the project design and through the design process, traditional Chinese architecture was reinterpreted.

The subterranean Tilt Roof House is set amid peaceful mountains and rice fields an hour east of Seoul in Korea. The house shows our understanding and consideration of “Ki”, which is the traditional term for the universal energy that permeates through everything.

“A House in Trees” locates in a small narrow land, which was divided with the area of 5×15(m) in Tu Son town, Bac Ninh, Vietnam. This area is facing rapid industrialization and urbanization. There are several problems with the site such as noise and smog from traffic; and negative effects from industrial zone. The main façade is faced west.

The brief was to build a set of cabañas for a couple of surfers and musicians, with the main cabaña as the house.

Aspe´s half buried house is located in the typical inner Alicante´s half desertic landscape, amongst irrigated crops and low mountains of great beauty, yet surrounded by a single family residential tissue, dense and repetitive.

The “Casa de los Aguacates” reform proposal is based on opening the preexistent volume to the patio and avocado’s garden. We developed a constructive system, which allowed us to solve this new orientation and illumination task and reinforce the preexisting structure simultaneously.

Kannikegården is a new house for Ribe parish’s parochial church council, built on the square in Ribe, just across the cathedral. The building houses functions for the parochial church council and the staff at the church.
